Every Weekend is Family Weekend
SFA and the City of Nacogdoches are family. While it's no easy feat to send your student to another town, rest assured that the Nacogdoches Community is here with open arms and the best resources to make sure they feel right at home.
In the past, SFA and the Nacogdoches Community have teamed up to have one Family Weekend bash. But over the years, community leaders have deemed "Every Weekend is Family Weekend."
Visit Nacogdoches is your source for things to do, places to eat, and itineraries for any weekend you come to visit. We've partnered with local shops, restaurants and lodging to offer special discounts for family members of SFA students. Check back often as new deals will be added throughout the semester.

SFA ATHLETICS
SFA is home to both competitive Division I sports teams and spirit teams. SFA’s unique athletic traditions and competitive Lumberjack and Ladyjack teams make our sporting events some of the most popular happenings on campus. Get yourself some tickets to the next big game!

SFA Movie Theater
Catch a weekend movie at the Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater. This on-campus theatre is open to the public and features inexpensive movies, value-priced concessions and accessible seating.

SFA Mast Arboretum
Enjoy a relaxing stroll through beautiful garden trails filled with diverse plant life. The first arboretum at a university in Texas, this on-campus garden spills over 19 acres and lies on a portion of the Lanana Creek Trail.

Lake Nacogdoches East Side Park
Visitors can spend a relaxing day by the water at Lake Nacogdoches. You'll find picnic tables, swimming area, a boat ramp, restroom, barbeque pits and parking area in this three-acre park. This lake is perfect for fishing, too—Lake Nacogdoches is known for producing trophy-sized bass.

Visit the Nacogdoches Farmer's Market
The Nacogdoches Farmer's Market is a non-profit organization that grows to 45+ vendors during the summer months. The vendors sell home-grown and home-made items of all descriptions. Open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, year-round.
