The Herdmans, the six "worst kids in the history of the world," attend Sunday School for the free snacks and end up volunteering to star in the church's annual Christmas pageant. What could go wrong?
The Lamp-Lite Players present The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, by Barbara Robinson, December 19-22, 2024, ONE WEEKEND ONLY. Curtain is 7:30 pm, December 19th, 20th, and 21st, and 2:00 pm, December 22nd. It is highly recommended that tickets be purchased at one of the outlets in advance. Cash or a season pass is accepted.
The Herdmans, played by Anayah Denby, Cater Cartwright, Grayson Fos, Cadence Glazener, Jake Hancock, & Sofi Serna, are “the worst kids in the world.” After hearing about desserts at church, they take over the main parts of the Annual Christmas Pageant, to the chagrin of the Bradleys, played by Cristoban Morones, Chelsi Condon, Rees Runnels, & Benjamin Serna-Villanueva. Can Mrs. Bradley turn the impending fiasco around?
The Ladies of the Church, played by Brandi Cartwright, Jennifer Harris, Candyce Wagnon, Veronica York, and Frances Teal, do not think so. They continually give advice to Rev. Hopkins, played by Heath McCormack. In addition, Beth’s best friend Alice, played by Holly Odom, provides her insights, and the Sunday School Kids, including Maxine, played by Megan Harris, and Elmer, played by Robert McDermand, and the rest, played by Harper Ashley, Tate Ashley, Gabby Bloxson, McKenna Fos, Joci Hunt, Marlee Lathan, Madeline Alexandra Norman, Madeline Norman, Lucy Orheim, Lori Serna, Isabella Serna-Villanueva, Lydia Smith, and Jack Luke York enter the fray. Added to the chaos are the Firemen, played by Pablo Morones and Scott Parrish.
Katherine Parrish Whitbeck directs this cherished Christmas tradition featuring adult, youth, and child Lamp-Lite Players. Davy Thomas directs the music and provides accompaniment. Elaine Lambright and Betsy Tucker serve as Assistant Directors and Tari Dean serves as Stage Manager, assisted by Chris Sence. Rounding out the production leadership are Nancy Smith, Mark Hooker, Gina Jones, Brian Oswald, Steve Chandler, and Christen Smith.
The Rhythm Cloggers will dance before the play December 19, 21, and 22, and Heart of the Pines Chorus will sing December 20. Stone House Kitchen will serve complimentary hot chocolate on Opening Night, December 19, 2024.
Tickets cost $15 for Adults, $12 for Adults 60+, & $8 for students/children, are General Seating, are good for a specific performance, & are available at Klines/Wrap-It-Up & the CVB. Tickets also go on sale at the Box Office, 30 minutes prior to each performance at Lamp-Lite Theatre. Audience members are asked to arrive at Lamp-Lite Theatre 15-30 minutes prior to curtain.
