*Dress Your Very Victorian Best*
We invite our guests to travel back in time by dressing in historically inspired attire! Whether you don a full Victorian costume or a historically adjacent outfit that captures the refined style of the 19th century, your participation will add to the immersive experience.
Please note that while creativity is encouraged, all costumes should be suitable for a formal public event. Think timeless, tasteful, and elegant – much like what one might wear to a festive gathering in the Victorian era.
As a bonus, those who embrace the spirit of the occasion will have the chance to be entered into our "Best Dressed" contest!
*Christmas Dinner & Drinks*
In partnership with local caterers and wineries, we are creating a holiday menu inspired by what might have been served in the late 1800s here in Texas. Guests can savor a traditional beverage of the era, mulled wine, as well as indulge in festive after-dinner hot chocolate.
*Very Victorian Christmas Exhibit*
Take a walk through the Sterne-Hoya House and explore exhibit panels highlighting beloved Christmas traditions of the Victorian period. The house will be fully adorned with exquisite holiday decorations, offering a glimpse into Christmas past.
*Crafting Stations*
Unleash your creativity with our interactive crafting tables, where you can make your own Victorian-inspired Christmas cards, try your hand at needlework, or create a festive ornament. These stations will provide a hands-on experience with some of the most popular crafts from the Victorian era.
*Live Music*
Enjoy the sounds of the season as talented musicians from Stephen F. Austin State University perform period-appropriate string music, creating the perfect backdrop for a night of festive celebration.
