PAL's 3rd Community Heroes Hoops Tournament
brings local basketball enthusiasts onto the court! Players must be at least 16 years old to play in this 3-on-3 tournament, hosted by the Parks Advocacy League of Nacogdoches. This year's hero theme is Educators! All 10 teams are named after nominated teachers and educators.
The winning team will receive a $400 cash prize, sponsored by Chili's, as well as autographed LUKA DONCIC pictures! The 2nd place team will receive $40 gift cards to Sombrero's!
Proceeds from this event benefit a historic city park, Robert McCrimmon Park, on Woden Rd. The 60-year-old playground structures will be replaced with modern pieces to inspire imagination and healthy outdoor play, as well as covered seating and picnic tables!
The tournament will be held in the boys gym at McMichael Middle School. In the girls gym, a "Play Zone" with bounce houses, bubble dome, pickleball and numerous other activities for kids can be enjoyed for FREE! The first 40 children will receive gift tote bags!
At 1pm bring the kids to the boys gym to MEET THE SFA LUMBERJACKS BASKETBALL TEAM! SFA Basketball players will provide a 20-minute free clinic where kids get to improve skills, run drills and shoot hoops with our university players! The first 50 children to participate will receive Luka Doncic posters!
Spectators are encouraged to signup for the Free Throw Shoot Out to win great prizes!
CASA DEL BAYOU will be set up to feed visitors a delicious lunch! PAL will have concessions snacks available in the Play Zone.
THANK YOU to this year's sponsors: ETECH, Raising Cane's, Chili's, Chick-fil-a and Concerned Black Men of Nacogdoches!
